After the commissioning of RELY-PCIe cards and RELY-REC recorders for the Uruguayan UTE operator, last week our team delivered a one-week course to the engineers of the Utility and the specialists of Controles, our partner in the region. The training was focused on our core technologies in high-availability time-aware networking and it included some hands-on setups for practicing with the specific configurations of the Electric Sector.
During the duration of the course, our colleagues had the opportunity to visit one Digital Substation equipped with Relyum technology. The following picture was taken in September 2018 at Zona Norte 150 kV Substation in Montevideo Uruguay. It shows Controles S.A. Bay Control Units RTU194 provided with SoC-e SMARToem HSR/PRP/PTP module. As a result of this fully digitalization effort, the utility is achieving a fully automated operation supported by time-aware redundant networks.
